LNB Round 2 (Second Stage): Titanes defeat Reales

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in LNB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Reales in San Cristobal on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Titanes 98-94. Titanes dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Reales' 48 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Titanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Tony Criswell (205-1991, college: Missouri) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds. point guard Richard Bautista (185-1997, agency: BMS Sport Agency) contributed with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American point guard Michael Warren (183, college: Franklin Pierce) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds for Reales. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Titanes is looking forward to face Metros in Santiago in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Reales will play at home against Indios and are hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of Caneros against Indios on Thursday night. Visiting Caneros were crushed by Indios in San Francisco 101-75. Trinidad and Tobago center Jabari Narcis (206-1997, college: UT Arlington) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Luismal Ferreiras chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Indios will play against Reales in La Vega in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Caneros will play on the road against Marineros in Puerto Plata and hope to get back on the winning track.

In the last game of round 2 bottom-ranked Marineros were beaten by Metros on the road 94-79.




Indios - Caneros 101-75

Very important is a road loss of Caneros against Indios on Thursday night. Visiting Caneros were crushed by Indios in San Francisco 101-75. Indios made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Caneros' players. Trinidad and Tobago center Jabari Narcis (206-1997, college: UT Arlington) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Luismal Ferreiras (200-2003, agency: BMS Sport Agency) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and Jamaican-Canadian forward Shaquille Keith (198-1993, college: Cape Breton) scored 17 points. Indios will play against Reales in La Vega in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Metros - Marineros 94-79

No shocking result in a game when Metros beat Marineros in Santiago 94-79. Metros players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American forward Emmitt Williams (198-1998, college: LSU, agency: BMS Sport Agency) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Jeff Allen (201-1987, college: Virginia Tech, agency: BMS Sport Agency) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Swingman Jonatan Bello (195-2001, agency: BMS Sport Agency) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Marcus Thomas (191-1995, college: Rosemont) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metros will play against Titanes in San Cristobal in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Marineros will play at home against Caneros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
